Healthy Ageing

Healthy ageing is not something that happens by chance. Ageing occurs gradually, so the time to start preventing the signs of ageing starts now at any age. Now is the time to start looking after that one cell in your body that will multiple and divide into other healthy cells. 

Research shows that we are not destined to follow the path of our ancestors if we change our diet, lifestyle and mindset. 

Ageing depends on many factor,

What we eat, how we eat, how much we eat is one element of how we age. 

Every cell in your body depends on the food that you eat and how that food is processed. 

There are many factors affecting digestion:

  • Gut health is a primary consideration when aiming to achieve healthy ageing
  • Stress shuts down your digestive process
  • Poor food combination affects digestion
  • Overeating affects digestion
  • Drinking water with your meals dilutes digestive enzymes
  • Eating quickly disrupts digestion
  • Eating foods that are too hot causes damage to the lining of the upper digestive tract 
  • Eating foods that are too cold slows digestion
  • Eating ice-cream after a meal, slows down digestion of the meal
  • Improper choice of meal for your body type causes digestive problems
  • Toxicity levels in our foods affect the cells

Regular elimination is vital for good health

  • Poor bowel function leads to accumulation of toxins 
  • Excessive bowel function leads to poor nutritional uptake by the cells

Physical strength and flexibility 

  • Regular physical activity is essential for healthy ageing 

Friendship and communication 

  • Spending time with like-minded people or family feeds more than our body
  • Love is nurturing and nourishing 
  • Feeling a sense of worth by contributing to the community

Self-compassion, Self-love

  • Caring for ourselves as we would care for someone we love 

Gratitude

  • Living with the presence of something greater than yourself
  • Simply being grateful for life and everything you touch, feel, smell, see and taste
