Healthy Immune
Our immune system is our protection against anything that is foreign to our body. Our bone marrow make up white blood cells as well as red blood cells and platelets. It is the white blood cells that are activated when your body is being challenged. Your lymphatic system, spleen, tonsils, thymus, adenoids, appendix and Payer's patch all play a role, and form part of your immune system. The system works in meticulous order having different lines of defence for different situations. We have specific and non-specific immune response designed to destroy foreign invaders as well as clean up the site and remove the debris.
Supporting immune health needs to be a regular practice to experience optimal health.
Foods high in Vitamin C and anti-oxidants need to be considered when looking after your immune health. Consider eating citrus fruits, green vegetables, garlic, ginger and turmeric. When your immune system is low or you are overworked and stressed you may need to consider taking vitamin supplements.
