Joy

JOY - It is interesting to see the variety of ways we can experience joy from looking at the clouds, walking the dog, competing in a team, doing a project, being in the garden, or simply doing nothing. It makes me think that there is a payoff for everything that we choose to do and when we are in the moment working towards the payoff, it brings us joy. What brings us joy is simply being in the moment and being in touch with the feeling that arises and if the feeling aligns with the payoff that we desire, it brings us joy. If it's the peace you desire, then stillness will bring you joy. If it's the adrenal buzz of fitness then exercise and sporting activity will bring us joy. If it's the satisfaction of completing a project, then we have to do the work to bring us joy. Acting on achieving what is important to us and being present, I feel is the key to experiencing joy. We need to be still to experience peace, we need to be physically active, to feel invigorated and alive. We need to stroll and take in our surroundings to feel connected. We need to explore our creativity to do those projects to feel proud of our achievements. We need to love to feel love.
